Privacy Policy

Overview

Note Wall lets people leave short notes on place-based walls around the world. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account: Firebase anonymous or Google-linked sign-in gives us a user ID. If you link Google, we store your email for account sync.
• Profile: nickname and avatar you choose in Profile settings.
• Notes: text, photos, drawings, voice, or video you post, plus the nickname snapshot on each note.
• Usage: approximate location you pick for nearby walls, device/browser type, and basic app diagnostics.

How we use information

• Show notes on walls and sync your content across devices when signed in.
• Operate authentication, storage, and abuse prevention.
• Improve reliability and fix bugs.
• We do not sell your personal information.

What is public

Notes you leave on walls are visible to anyone who opens that wall. Your private “Your notes” list in Me is only shown to you in the app. Do not post sensitive personal information you would not want others to see.

Storage & retention

Profile and note data are stored in Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Storage). Notes are kept until we offer deletion tools or remove content for abuse, legal, or operational reasons. Local copies may remain on your device until you clear app data.

Third-party services

• Google Firebase (auth, database, storage, hosting)
• Google Sign-In (optional account linking)
• Google Maps / place search (location features)
• These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies.

Your choices

• Use the app without linking Google (guest/anonymous mode).
• Edit nickname and avatar in Profile.
• Sign out of Google in Profile to start a new guest session.
• Contact us to request access or deletion where applicable law requires it.

Children

Note Wall is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
