The drive to this section of the Great Wall is quiet scenic with mountains and tunnels. Once you reach the Wall, the hike is quiet steep so be prepared and store your food supplies accordingly. There are shops and food places at the entrance too. The sunset experience at the wall is worth the extra money (evening ticket is more expensive) - there is a dancing and singing show and fancy …
A note left hereI’ve always wanted to see the Great Wall of China and it was amazing. Took the cable car up there and got shocked with the steep slope and the number of visitors got more and more as time passed by. Thank god I went there early
A note left hereOut of world experience, online research suggested that one would need to Mutianyu to experience less crowds. However, if you just to the ends of Badaling you can find yourself in peace and quiet. Badaling is also so much easier to get to with 20-25mins by high speed rail. Just remember to buy the train ticket along with the entrance ticket (can probably even buy this at the door)
