The castle itself is beautiful, with its striking architecture and gold accents standing out against the surrounding greenery. The park around the castle is spacious and well maintained, making it a lovely place for a leisurely walk. We especially enjoyed taking in the views from the outside and exploring the castle grounds.

The walk from the nearby train station through Osaka Castle Park is quite long, so be prepared for some walking. However, the journey itself is enjoyable, with wide pathways, greenery, and a gradual reveal of the castle as you get closer.

A note left hereVery impressive architecture and grounds. It was a hot and steamy day and lift up to the top of the castle and taking the stairs down was logical! Views from the top of the castle were a little underwhelming but the history and story of the unification of Japan with this castle playing an important role is fascinating. The many artefacts on show inside the castle on the four levels were equally impressive.
