A note left hereOne of the most beautiful and fascinating places in the world. The natural colors are breathtaking. The engineering skills of the Nabataeans in hydraulics was 2000 years ahead of their time. Other famous ruins such as Persepolis have beautiful carvings and statues, but the integration of the tombs into the natural rock in Petra is unmatched.
Allow at least 3 full days to explore the area. Good to precede visit to site with time at the museum. It is open late, so you can visit in the evening.
